Hello there, I’m April. I’m grateful to wear the hats of a Christian, wife, mother, veteran, and photographer. For over 20 years, I’ve been capturing life’s moments through my lens—a journey that has shaped not only my skills but also the way I see the world.
My love for photography began in my early adult years when a dear friend introduced me to scrapbooking. What started as a creative hobby soon became a calling. I found myself striving to fill my books with images that told genuine stories—photos that carried meaning beyond their frames. As I became more passionate about scrapbooking, I realized it wasn’t just about preserving memories—it was about arranging colors, textures, and compositions in a way that felt balanced and beautiful. That appreciation for visual harmony eventually led me to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, where I learned how light, color, and structure work together to tell a visual story.
After completing my degree, I served in the United States Army as a photojournalist. It was a deeply rewarding experience that gave me the opportunity to document powerful and emotional stories—moments of courage, sacrifice, and humanity. I was humbled to receive multiple awards for my photography, including a Keith L. Ware Award for excellence in military journalism. My time in the Army taught me the true depth of storytelling through imagery and instilled in me a sense of duty, discipline, and service that continues to guide me in every part of my life.
As a Christian, my faith deeply influences the way I approach my photography. I believe every person has a story worth telling, and it’s my mission to capture that with honesty and compassion. My goal is for everyone who steps in front of my camera to feel seen, valued, and loved—just as they are.
Being a wife and mother is also at the heart of who I am. My family is my greatest source of joy and inspiration, continually reminding me of the beauty in everyday moments. Through these experiences—as a veteran, student, and parent—I’ve developed the ability to connect with people from all walks of life and to translate those connections into photographs that speak with authenticity and emotion.
In all that I do—whether as a photographer, wife, mother, or follower of Christ—my mission is to create beauty, foster connection, and serve others with humility. I consider it an honor to capture life’s precious moments and to create images that reflect the love, faith, and grace found in every story.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.
